GRILL BUYING TIPS
Where is the grill made?
When you are looking at Gas Grills, you should look at the information tag on the back of the grill. If the Grill was made anywhere other than North America, you'll likely be unable to get replacement parts. Grills built in North America will generally have good support and warranty parts for the long term.
Are all Stainless Steel Grills the same?
No! The most important aspect of Stainless Steel Grills is the grade/quality of the steel, and the thickness of the metal. A good Grill will be made of 304 Grade Stainless Steel, you can tell because the surface is not magnetic. Cheap Stainless Steel will be magnetic and thus is much more likely to stain and corrode when outside in the weather. The other important aspect to consider is thickness of the steel. If the Stainless Steel is a very thin gauge (much cheaper to produce), when the Grill heats up, it will stain the steel yellow. If you open the lid of a BBQ, and push it side to side, a well built grill will feel solid; a poorly built grill will flex and twist side to side.

How much should I expect to spend on a good Gas Grill?
To get a quality built Gas Grill that will last into the 10 year + range, you can expect to start off in the $800.00 Range. However, there are many good choices in the $400-$800 range that will have a good long life. The key to a Grill purchased in this price range, is the availability of replacement parts. If you purchase a $400 Grill and in 5 years the burner dies, if you can't find a replacement burner, you'll be out spending another $400. A good grill company will have replacement parts available for a reasonable price to get more quality years out of your grill.
